Crude oil prices rose, with reports citing fears that conflict in the Middle East could escalate. In delayed data (not live), our front-month WTI quote (the price for the nearest delivery month) was $103.27 per barrel, 3.82% above the previous close, the price when trading ended the day before.
One report says prices jumped after an attack on Iran's South Pars field. Other reports point to fears of wider conflict in the Middle East and to Houthi attacks.
Reports say prices settled at their highest level since April.
The reports do not say what happens next.
