GlobalWafers is a Taiwanese maker of silicon wafers that serve as the starting material for semiconductor chips. The company produces polished and epitaxial wafers in various sizes and supplies them to chip manufacturers and foundries that serve electronics, communications and industrial markets. It also offers related wafer services and has grown its production footprint through acquisitions of other wafer producers. GlobalWafers is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and sells to customers across Asia, Europe and North America.
