Elan Microelectronics is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that designs chips for touch and human interface applications. Its products include touchscreen controllers, touchpad controllers and microcontroller units used in notebook computers, tablets and other consumer electronics. The company supplies device makers and electronics manufacturers, and its chips are found in touchpads and touch panels on portable computers. Elan is based in Taiwan, where it carries out its chip design work and coordinates sales to customers around the world.
