About MIPS AB
MIPS AB is a Swedish company that develops brain protection technology for helmets. Its system is a low-friction layer placed inside a helmet that lets the head move slightly relative to the shell during an impact, which the company says helps reduce rotational forces on the brain. MIPS licenses this technology to helmet manufacturers, who use it in products for cycling, skiing, motorcycling, equestrian and other sports, as well as in some industrial safety helmets.
