Gen Digital stock soars 15.8% after beat and raise

Gen Digital (GEN) shares soared 15.8% to $28.20 on Thursday after a beat and raise, reports say.

The Norton parent gained after the results topped what was expected and the company raised its own figures.

The close leaves the stock 10.9% below its 52-week high of $31.65. Volume was 1.4 times the recent average, and the S&P 500 fell 0.3% the same day.

Shares are up 11.3% over the past year.
