About Southern Copper Corporation
Southern Copper Corporation is a mining company that extracts copper and refines it into metal for industrial customers around the world. Its mines and processing plants are located in Mexico and Peru, where it also recovers by-products such as molybdenum, zinc, silver and gold. The company runs smelters and refineries that turn ore into refined copper, which is used in construction, electrical wiring, electronics and machinery. It is part of Grupo Mexico and is based in the United States.
