Caterpillar Inc designs and builds heavy machinery for construction, mining, and earthmoving work, along with diesel and gas engines, turbines, and locomotives. Its machines include excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, and motor graders, sold mainly through independent dealers to contractors, mining companies, and governments. The company also provides equipment financing and parts and service support. Caterpillar is based in the United States and serves customers in many countries around the world.
