Occidental Petroleum is an energy company based in Houston, Texas, that explores for and produces crude oil, natural gas liquids and natural gas, with major operations in the Permian Basin of the United States and in other regions. Through its chemicals business it makes basic industrial chemicals such as chlorine and caustic soda, and it also runs midstream and marketing operations that gather, process and transport hydrocarbons for industrial customers and energy markets.
