CenterPoint Energy is a utility holding company based in Houston, Texas. It delivers electricity and natural gas to homes and businesses through regulated local utilities, mainly in Texas and neighboring states in the Midwest and South. Its electric business runs wires and meters for customers in and around the Houston area, while its natural gas utilities distribute gas for heating and cooking. The company also operates gas pipelines and storage and provides other energy services to retail and wholesale customers.
