Carl Zeiss Meditec makes medical devices for eye care and microsurgery. Its products include diagnostic instruments for examining the eye, laser systems and equipment used in cataract and refractive surgery, surgical microscopes, and intraocular lenses implanted during eye operations. Hospitals, eye clinics and specialist physicians are its main customers, and the company is based in Jena, Germany, with operations in many countries.
