It explores for, develops and produces crude oil and natural gas, chiefly in the waters off China such as the Bohai Bay, the South China Sea and the East China Sea, and it also holds interests in overseas oil and gas projects. Its customers are mainly refiners, energy traders and industrial buyers of crude oil and natural gas. The company is based in Hong Kong and belongs to the CNOOC group.
