Merck & Co. is a pharmaceutical company based in the United States that discovers, develops and manufactures prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products. Its human health business serves patients and healthcare providers through treatments for cancer, diabetes, infectious diseases and other conditions, while its animal health arm supplies veterinary medicines and vaccines to livestock and companion animal owners. The company sells its products to wholesalers, hospitals, pharmacies and governments in markets around the world.
