Occidental Petroleum Corporation is an energy company based in Houston, Texas, that explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas, with major operations in the Permian Basin of the United States as well as in the Middle East and other regions. Through its chemical arm, it manufactures chlorine, caustic soda and related industrial chemicals. Its customers include energy markets, industrial buyers and chemical users around the world.
