Compania Nationala de Transport al Energiei Electrice Transelectrica SA is Romania's electricity transmission system operator, based in Bucharest. It runs the high-voltage grid that carries power across the country, dispatches generation to keep the system balanced, and provides the framework for trading electricity on the wholesale market. Its customers are the generators, suppliers and large industrial users connected to the transmission network, along with neighbouring system operators with which it coordinates cross-border flows.
