Vale is a Brazilian mining company based in Rio de Janeiro. It produces iron ore and iron ore pellets, nickel, copper, manganese and ferroalloys, and also supplies coal and fertiliser ingredients. Its customers are steelmakers, stainless steel producers and industrial manufacturers around the world. The company runs its own railways, ports and ships to move ore from its mines to overseas buyers, and it operates mining and processing operations in Brazil and several other countries.
